The Mirabal Sisters. Patria, Minerva, and María Teresa, were active in the underground resistance movement during Trujillo's regime. Unfortunately, their brave fight ultimately cost them their lives. On November 25, 1960, the Mirabal Sisters were assassinated by Trujillo's henchmen. However, their sacrifice and commitment to justice and freedom have made them symbols of resistance and empowerment.
